An amazing weekend at Strawberry Music Festival
The Railflowers have been blessed with two solid weeks of continous musical inspiration. Starting with our first ever Strawberry Music Festival where even the bitter cold couldn't freeze our excitement to see Allison Krauss and Union Station featuring Jerry Douglas. We forged through rain, hail, and a brief snow to make it up to this music festival right outside Yosemite National Park and boy, we are happy we did. Experienced such inspiration and fun watching Angel Snow, 18 South, Sarah and the Tall Boys, Yarn, The California Honeydrops. We had barely missed our favorites Trampled by Turtles and Brown Bird and The Good Lovlies, but we are sure our paths will cross again. We have to give a shout out to all of the Chicoans camped together at "Sarong Way" who invited us into their jam circle and shared their instruments and harmonies with us. So much generousity. Keeping our fingers crossed we will be fortunate to play on the legendary Strawberry Stage someday.
As our hearts and souls swooned from the majesty of Strawberry Music Festival, our week unfolded the magic even more as we traveled over to Grass Valley to open for Mamuse at the Center for the Arts last Thursday. It was the release of their new album Integration of the Awkward, and if you ever desire to have a truly cathartic and spiritual experience with live music, you must see Mamuse. We are forever blessed to have them in our circle of inspiration.
Topping the week off right, playing at Chico's fourth annual Bicycle Music Festival was simply fantastic and so much fun. To see so many people cruising on their bicycles in mass was quite the sight. And then Sunday, we were honored to play with a most gracious and powerful musician, Raina Rose. It was the icing on the cake for our sweet musical adventure. Three Sixty Ecotique dress shop opened their doors for the evening and set an ambiance that welcomed all who came.
Gratitude- Our cup runneth over.
